Postpartum Jewelry – (Victoria Emerson Giveaway)

I am just about two months postpartum. My nights are still divided into 3 hour segments, broken up by breastfeeding, burping and re-swaddling. The bags under my eyes could now be referred to as luggage. My “fat jeans” and leggings are still the only fabric successfully covering my legs. And, my favorite tops have been hijacked in honor of those allowing for “easy access.” A term which was once sexy and conjured up vignettes of bathroom quickies, now means the ability to feed on demand, anywhere at anytime. Button-downs, wrap shirts, loose sweaters, and nursing bras. In all this, it’s still important for me to feel stylish and put together. My secret? Jewelry.

Baubles, trifles, costume jewelry, vintage, metallics! Who cares? All of my jewelry still fits and provides me with a quick way to feel glamorous in my new routine of flats (or uggs) and pseudo-moo-moos or ponchos. I know my body will recover eventually and for now I’m just happy dressing Josiah well (who has a better, more extensive wardrobe than me and my husband combined.)

Because it’s my birthday this Thursday, and because Valentine’s day is almost upon us, I’m giving you a piece of my collection! Enter to win a bracelet from Victoria Emerson below.

  1. PINKY: The Lana Pinky Ring in Silver by Sarah Chloe x Goop – initialed “J” for Joss, and purchased a few days after delivery. Show your pinkies some love with this signet ring.
  2. RING FINGER: The Beatriz wedding band and the Ella wedding band  in Platinum from Ken & Dana Designs. When I don’t feel like wearing my complete bridal set and my awesome engagement ring, I stack these two bands which each go 3/4 way around and feel slightly vintage. Ken & Dana commissions are handcrafted in NYC, and ensure that each piece is environmentally friendly and socially responsible.
  3. THE MIDDLE FINGER: For the longest digit, I tend to go simple. The 14k gold, 5 blue sapphire stone ring from Lio and Linn is great worn alone or for stacking. I discovered this amazing brand at the Renegade Craft Fair.
  4. INDEX FINGER: Ever since first visiting Catbird year ago, I fell in love with the idea of midi stacking rings. The gold chevron is from Liesel Love, and I cannot remember where the silver knot ring is from! However, you can find similar here.
  5. THUMB: The Sterling Silver Double Bar Ring from Eve’s Addiction is in a modern, minimalist cuff style that adjusts its size to fit almost any finger.
  6. FIRST BRACELET (from wrist): At the base of my wrist, flaring toward my fingers, is the ARCN Pacaya Bracelet from Abacus Row.  This is a Limited Edition bracelet created by Christy Natsumi and Abacus Row featuring 14K gold-fill fringe, palladium-plated glass Japanese hex-cut seed beads, and 24k gold-plated glass Japanese seed beads. A total of 12 bracelets were made. 14K gold-fill fringe, palladium-plated glass Japanese hex-cut seed beads, 24k gold-plated glass Japanese seed beads.
  7. SECOND BRACELET: The Thread and Gold ID Layering Bracelet from Victoria Emerson is made of pewter metal, a steel chain, and features hand-wrapped cotton thread. It matches almost anything, leave it on for days.
  8. THIRD BRACELET: I was never a huge fan of anything overtly branded, and the Tiffany’s “property of” charm bracelets are no exception. I do, however adore many of the famous silversmith’s collections. I wore pieces from The Gatsby Collection, full of Jazz Age Glamour, to my wedding. Less formally, I adore the Atlas collection’s clean lines. On the cuff, linear numerals create a striking and simplified design.
